W.A.S.P. - New Villagers Theatre - May 2016

New Playwrights Series



The Villagers Theatre (producer Lluana Jones) will present a staged reading of my full-length play W.A.S.P. in Somerset, N.J. this May - very exciting news.  The Villagers Theatre (founded in 1960!) gives a playwright the opportunity to see a work on its feet and a feel for its developing progress.

In 2010 the W.A.S.P. were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal from Congress in recognition of their WWII flying service. Their existence deleted from American history books, the general public knows little about these courageous women.  This is the unique story of seven courageous U.S. women pilots who ferried warplanes from the factories to the airfields.  

Shawnee WINNER - The Counterfeit Dick

After hearing many one-act plays read, The Counterfeit Dick  was selected by the audience to be produced at Shawnee and will come to life on this Pennsylvania stage January 2016.  I guess people still love those crazy film noir characters. 



  

1930s mystery writer Bernard Fiddlefeiffer’s life is about to spin out of control.  His successful private eye Dan Kulligan, very real to a devoted audience of readers, becomes a little too real for Bernard in The Counterfeit Dick.





Manhattan Repertory Theatre and Ethereal Killer



Ethereal Killer, featured in Manhattan Rep's 10-minute play contest and directed by Misti Wills, will be part of five plays presented this January 12, 13, 14, 15 @ 6:30 on 42nd Street's Theatre Row.

Ananka Kohnitz, producer at Theatre Southwest in Houston, TX, had this to say in my submits email:  "I received your script Ethereal Killer and loved it.  We have chosen it out of 603 scripts received from around the country to be read in front of an audience along with 11 others at Theatre Southwest's 11th Annual Readers Theatre.  Thank you for submitting!"

Well thank you, Ananka, for accepting!  The event will take place this November's end.

W.A.S.P. a finalist in NYC

Full-length play W.A.S.P. about U.S. Women Airforce Service Pilots during WWII was selected as a finalist out of 200 submissions by the Hudson Shakespeare Company for their first-ever New Works! festival.

Diez Minutos Productions in the beautiful city of San Miguel de Allende in central Mexico

has made my ten-minute version of Ethereal Killer a semifinalist!

 

 

 



Off B'way Bound

One-act dark comedy Ethereal Killer comes to Theatre Row in NYC July 22-26 at the Studio Theatre 410 w42nd Street.  It's part of a program with other "killer" one acts entitled "All's Well That Ends."  Produced by IAAM Productions and Aching Dogs Theatre Company.  July 22, 23, 24 @8:00, July 25 @2:00 & 8:00, July 26 @3:00.
